TIPS ABOUT IDENTIFY PURE HONEY

Fake and impure honeys have become commonplace in the market today, despite many people's preference for 100% bees' honey. The problem with this is, unfortunately, fake and impure honey can be passed off as pure very easily. When viewed on the shelf, it is very hard to pick out what is pure, and what is not. There are, however, a few ways to figure this out.

1. Ants will not come close to the pure honey, ants don't like pure honey. If your honey crowded by ants...It is fake.

2. You can tell a honey from its thickness. It has high viscosity, doesn't change its form easily as water do.

3. Honey has a density of about 1.36 kg/liter (40% denser than water) it won't go trough fabrics membrane. Unless with high pressure. This method is for filtering.

4. The pH of honey is commonly between 3.2 and 4.5.This relatively acidic pH level prevents the growth of many bacteria and would make the honey last for century.
 
5. Pure honey has specific taste, aroma and color.

6. Pure raw honey is more expensive than process honey. Tropical rainforest raw honey is most expensive due to its limited production by giant bees and very difficult to find

Pour the honey into the drinking water. If the honey is impure, it will dissolve in the water- the most common additive to honey is syrup of jaggery, which dissolves. If it is pure, the honey will stick together and sink as a solid lump to the bottom of the glass.
Pour a little bit of honey on a white cloth, and then wash the cloth. If there is any stain left by the honey, it is probably not pure.
